Artiste franco-polonaise basée à Montréal, Zuzanna Rokita capture la lumière à l’aide de solutions photosensibles.
Son approche de la photographie est artisanale et expérimentale. Elle utilise un procédé photographique ancien, le cyanotype. Un support photosensible est placé dans un paysage qu’elle choisit. En jouant avec la lumière, les variations et les conditions météorologiques de ces territoires qu’elle explore, l’artiste cherche à affiner notre perception et à remonter à la source de phénomènes invisibles. Elle capture ces premiers instants du jaillissement d’une émotion lorsque émerge une image ainsi révélée par la lumière.
En décrivant un autre versant plus abstrait de la réalité, elle crée les conditions d’une expérience sensible. Elle tente de redéfinir notre rapport à la nature tout en interrogeant la fabrique des images.
Dans la profondeur de son bleu, on contemple la poésie de l’instant, ce qui nous relie profondément à la complexité de la vie. Son oeuvre se nourrit du regard phénoménologique et de sensations inexploitées.

Franco- Polish artist Zuzanna Rokita, based in Montreal, captures light with the aid of photosensitive chemical solutions. Her approach to photography is artisanal and experimental. She uses an old method of photography – cyanotype. A photosensitive object is placed in a setting chosen by the artist. By playing with the light with all its variations, and combined with the weather conditions of that location, the artist’s aim is to refine our perception of that object by taking us to the source of invisible phenomena. She captures the first gush of emotion even as the image is revealed to us by the light.In the process of presenting us with an outpouring that is further removed from reality, she creates the conditions for an experience of the senses. She attempts to redefine our relationship to nature by examining the makeup of those images.In the depths of her blues, we find ourselves contemplating the poetry caught in the moment, that which relates deeply to the complexity of our lives. The artist’s creation feeds on a view that is phenomeno- logical and on feelings yet unexplored.Sarah Guntherknecht
